Brooks’ ethereal backdrop perfectly complimented the romantic collection. Sewn into rows of moss, the show-stopping installation transformed the grand location, transporting guests into a dreamy floral world.

JASON WU – MONOCHROMATIC PILLARS

No strangers to the fashion world, renowned floral designers from Putnam & Putnam brought their dramatic, enveloping style to Jason Wu’s Autumn womenswear show in New York. In shades of canary yellow, burgundy, midnight blue, coral and fuchsia, the duo shaped the runway with statement flower-encased columns in juxtaposition with sleek black acrylic pillars. Using thousands of individual stems, the divergent set design creates an ambience that is both masculine and feminine, romantic and rebellious, themes also visible in Wu’s aesthetic.

MULBERRY – HYDRANGEA & ROSE FLOWER WALL

Over in London, Mulberry took over Spencer House in Marylebone for their fashion week show. Stunning attendees with a dusty pink wall adorned with roses and hydrangeas, an opulent Insta-perfect backdrop was built for the beloved British label.

Created by the talented Nikki Tibbles from Wild at Heart, evenly distributed vertical blooms were placed in rows of metallic test tube holders along the flower wall, providing small bursts of colour that were mimicked in the finished looks. For the brand’s first see-now-buy-now show, Johnny Coca designed the collection around summer tea parties, representative of the traditional lifestyle of Princess Diana’s ancestral home, kitsch and sophistication combined.

RAF SIMONS – FLORAL FEASTING

Between luxurious, extravagant floral bouquets, designer Raf Simons stacked masses of fruit, cheeses cakes and wine for fashionistas to feast on during the Autumn menswear collection at NYFW. While contemplating the concept for the collection, Simons grew nostalgic for 1981 film Christiane F, a dark and harrowing tale of drug abuse and addiction. Yearning youthful obsession, pessimism and fetishism came together with techno music and strobe lighting to create the opulent runway spectacle. The dark stormy petals complimenting Simons’ experimental collection perfectly.

LUISA BECCARIA – FOLIAGE AND MUTED BLOOMS

At the grand Palazzina Appiani museum, models drifted elegantly down the runway in airy, intricately patterned gowns for Luisa Beccaria’s Milan Fashion Week symphony themed presentation. Duck egg blue, mauve and pearlescent teal butterflies and blossoms were seen in the delicate chiffon designs while fairytale blooms set the backdrop for the wistful couture show. Vast amounts of muted green foliage with contrasting violet and lilac flowers set the scene for the orchestral exhibit while fashionistas and influencers alike took the opportunity to pose in front of the elaborate arrangements.
